The practical benefits and high-impact decoration possibilities of plastic pails from RPC Superfos UK Region were key reasons for the selection of the packs for a range of home and garden products from leading manufacturer Vitax Ltd.

RPC Superfos in Oakham is supplying the injection moulded polypropylene containers in sizes from 2.5 to 10 litres from the SuperLift and PS (Protective Shoulder) ranges, together with a small 1 litre pot from RPC Superfos in Blackburn.  These are for Vitax's market-leading garden and growing, and control products, such as Bonemeal, Q4 Fertiliser and Slug Gone.

The wide decoration area of the pails provides maximum space for effective branding and this has been further enhanced by the use of in-mould labelling for several of the products, which allows the creation of colourful and eye-catching designs that cover the entire pack to create a highly effective on-shelf appearance.

Previously Vitax had used cardboard packs for some ranges but the robust, waterproof qualities of the RPC Superfos packs have delivered a more user-friendly solution for garden products. Equally important, these same benefits, as well as their ease of stacking, provide greater flexibility in terms of where the packs can be displayed at garden centres.

"The lightweight, easy handling and effective protection that these packs offer are important advantages for both retailers and the end-consumers, while the quality of the decoration promotes a premium brand image for our products", comments Harvey Bird, technical and quality manager at Vitax.

"We have also been delighted with the exemplary service we have received from RPC Superfos. The company's excellent lead times and fast response has helped to ensure a smooth launch for these new packs."
